Sharon Stone’s liberty bell
Thursday, January 22nd, 2009
A rousing battle cry from frequent awards host presenter and even more frequent spaceball, Sharon Stone, speaking at a party hosted by PA Governor Edward Rendell:
Stone said, “We’re gonna ring that liberty bell that we brought with us here to America.”
Following the conclusion of her energetic monologue, Stone was gently reprimanded by the PA Gov’s delegation for her fantastic lack of historical knowledge.
Thank god someone remembered to bring that thing along from Norway.
What I enjoy most are the wildly differing accounts of what Stone purportedly said during her rambling speech (I’m still looking for a full transcript).
After Rendell and Specter spoke, the crowd came alive when actress Sharon Stone, a Pennsylvania native, gave a speech invoking the state’s natural resources and spirit of determination.
And then Shenanigans:
During her rambling discourse, she highlighted single mothers, anthracite coal and the Steelers as the Keystone State’s greatest attributes, according to an attendee.
